Our favorite trainer
Smash K9 is owned and operated by Shawn and Sheri Cathcart. Shawn has decades of experience training police dogs and his style of training is adapted to each individual dog. His quiet demeanor is part of what makes him so successful in what he does (we have seen trainers be very loud and aggressive with dogs and have never seen that approach work). Shawn is currently helping us with a very challenging and troubled pup.
Our preferred groomer
The Sudsy Mutt in North Beach, MD is the official groomer of Just One More Dachshund Rescue. Nicole is the proprietor and is so patient with all her clients. She understands that some rescued dogs have had a rough time and she works with them slowly until they come around. And if the female dogs have long hair, she adds the cutest feather to their ears. Our preferred veterinarian practice
Prince Frederick Animal Hospital in Prince Frederick, MD has been so wonderful with my own personal pets that I didn't hesitate to make them the preferred practice for Just One More Dachshund Rescue. Our favorite martingale collar and leash
We recently met the couple behind Lucky Lab Creations and have fallen in love with their BioThane® leash and martingale collars. They will not collect debris or retain moisture during any activity such as daily walks, hiking, swimming, training, etc. The leash is light weight, waterproof, easy to clean, and will not stretch or degrade. And they offer so many colors and even have holiday patterns.

Our preferred jackets and dresses
Dachshunds are long and low and often hard to fit when it comes to clothes. Because of their backs, a harness type coat is recommended. Our favorite bowl
Dachshunds, especially if you have more than one, are piglets. They will eat until they can't eat anymore. For this reason, I love a slow feeder bowl. Here are some on Amazon -
